Taskforce Pillars

Task Pillar on “Policy Advocacy” shall work on the following broad outlined guidelines:

1. Give focus on policy aspect in the areas such as; Block Chain and Cyber Security, Cargo Community System, being adopted at other world class airports including processes and infrastructure facilities deployed for the seamless and faster movement of international cargo so that we are able to develop our major international airports in to international cargo hubs.
2. Convincing government to simplify procedures through discarding outdated old policies and bring new transparent policies to improve ease of doing business in air freight industry.
3. To bring good practices being practiced at other world class airports for the faster movement of air cargo so that the present high dwell time of international cargo at Indian international airports is brought at international level.
4. To work for the future of air cargo industry with government authorities like ACLPB/ MoCA, CBIC/Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Commerce/ Department of Logistics etc.
5. This Pillar will also be taking policy issues brought by other Pillars on any of cargo matters with proper material/document for taking further necessary action with the concern authorities.

Identify bottlenecks in the existing processes of international air cargo and supply chain management. Devise strategy to improve dwell time of Import & Export Cargo. Work on the following areas of simplification of processes:

1. Process/Documentation improvement within air cargo Stakeholders.
2. Improvement in the regulatory processes and Policy Changes required.
3. Joint Monitoring of Implementation of 24×7 by a team of ACFI, Customs, CTO and other associations (ACAAI, FFFAI, IATA, BAR India Cargo etc.)
4. Suggest to improve the level of Ease of Doing Business in the areas of processes, documentation and clearance of import & export cargo. Mapping of services provided by the entire air cargo logistics trade partners including the Govt. agencies and standardize them at par with best international practices worldwide so that the international products moving across the air gateway points become more competitive in the international market and help the Indian gateway airports to become major hub airports of our region.

1. To organize yearly one day/ half day seminar at Delhi or at regional chapters to bring the trade members of the country on board, on the current burning topics with Regional Touch.
2. Organize quarterly awareness programs on the industry specific issues for the members.
3. Share the best practices of successful cargo hub airports/ countries and adopt knowledge sharing/ learnings sessions by inviting leading professionals from the leading international airports/ countries, Promote IT Driven Solutions, invite non-members also on the ACFI seminar.
4. Focus on Regional Issues, seek industry issues from all Stakeholders and improve Communication with personal contacts amongst all members
5. Organize interactive sessions among members, invite suggestions and disseminate achievements of ACFI to generate the interests of Members Participation in the activities of ACFI.

1. Give focus on the skills required in the areas of cargo processing, handling, transportation throughout the air cargo logistics supply chain.
2. Identify Cargo Skill Development courses, Faculty Members, Institutions for Imparting “Skill Development Training” to various level of officials working in the air cargo logistics supply chain industry.
3. Explore giving on the job practical training at each level of operation, processing and handling/ operating equipment also Liaise with the task force committee of Ministry of Civil Aviation on Skill Development as well as with the Ministry of Skill Development for seeking their assistance if any in this regard.

1. Study and identify possible new innovations that can be introduced in the infrastructure facilities and processes in the entire air cargo logistic chain for smooth, safe and faster processing and handling of air cargo while complying with the policies in vogue.
2. Identify best international practices worldwide in the areas of air cargo logistics trade and bring them in the knowledge domain of the trade for implementation or suggest innovative practices to government for implementation.
3. Suggest changes/ dispensation in the government policies to remove the bottlenecks/ challenges.

2. Focuses on automating tasks that involve human interaction
3. Brings together people, applications, devices, and information across organization
4. Often referred to as the next generation processes.

Task Pillar on “Go Green” shall work on the following broad outlined guidelines

1. As the global awareness of airport’s contribution to the climate crisis grows, so do expectations for airport operators to reduce their environmental impacts.
2. The carbon footprint of flights, all airports have local impacts to manage, including air quality issues, noise pollution, waste generation, potential damage to local wildlife habitats and water courses due to their operational and infrastructural activities.

1. Promote Air cargo as the preferred mode of transporting goods.
2. Develop Brand Philosophy logo and expand on the tag line
3. Plan for familiarizing – social media handles, website etc.

1. To boost the market share of domestic air cargo by enhancing its appeal and competitiveness, particularly with the increased domestic flight frequencies including tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
2. High-cost operation of Air-cargo compared to surface and rail
3. To address and resolve infrastructural and operational challenges hindering the growth of domestic air cargo and initiate Standard Operating Procedures.
4. Infrastructural hurdles and other operational issues

1. Promote Gender Diversity: Advocate for increased representation of women in all levels of the air cargo workforce, particularly in leadership roles.
2. Support Professional Development: Organize training sessions and workshops focused on skill development, leadership training, and career advancement strategies tailored for women in the industry.
3. Collaborate with Industry Stakeholders: Partner with allied industry organizations to amplify efforts and thereby create systemic change within the industry.

To provide a focus for increasing Regional Engagement and building new Partnership for the benefit of our Members and the Industry as a whole.
